His positions have included work for corporate and government customers as well as business and consumer clients. For more than 20 years, his primary interest has been in cybersecurity, although he continues to provide a range of other IT services.
He is certified as a CISSP (security professional), CISM (security manager), and CISA (IT systems auditor). That basically means he is recognized as having met extensive education and experience requirements and passed rigorous testing for each of these certifications, and that he updates his knowledge through regular ongoing professional education.
He attends trainings and briefings on a regular basis to keep aware of the latest developments with respect to the threats as well as the measures to provide protection against them. These trainings and briefings include representatives from industry and government, both nationally and internationally. He is a member of InfraGard, an alliance between the FBI and the private sector to protect the U.S. critical infrastructure. He also maintains his association with other industry organizations.
He has a masters degree and experience in counseling and carries that person-centered focus into his technology work.
He is currently interested in equipping small businesses, entrepreneurs, and consumers to protect their information and their technology. He empowers the non-technical person to understand the risks they face and how to protect themselves, their information, and their business.
